MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 21, 2026 /CNW/ -- Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced pricing for the 2027 BRZ, the rear-wheel-drive sports car engineered for pure driving enjoyment. For the new model year, the BRZ receives enhanced safety technology and refinements to improve comfort and performance. The biggest news is the introduction of the Canadian-exclusive BRZ 輝 Kagayaki Edition, commemorating 15 years since the introduction of the BRZ to Canada.

For 2027, the BRZ is offered in four trim levels: BRZ, Sport-tech, tS and 輝 Kagayaki Edition. All versions feature a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre SUBARU BOXER engine producing 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission, depending on trim level. A low centre of gravity, fully independent suspension and TORSEN limited-slip rear differential deliver the precise handling and balanced performance that have defined the BRZ from the beginning.

BRZ

Starting at $33,695, the BRZ features a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. For 2027, EyeSight gains a wide-angle mono camera for enhanced proactive safety. Additional refinements include increased underbody sound insulation to reduce road and tire noise, and improved manual transmission shift linkage for more consistent fifth-to-fourth gear downshifts.

Sport-tech

Priced at $38,195, the Sport-tech adds a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires, heated leather and Ultrasuede front seats, premium 8-speaker audio system and MySubaru Connected Services. Additional safety features include Subaru Rear/Side Vehicle Detection, Reverse Automatic Braking and LED steering-responsive headlights.

tS

At $38,295, the BRZ tS takes performance to another level with STI-tuned suspension featuring Hitachi-Astemo front dampers and retuned rear dampers. A Brembo high-performance braking system with gold-painted calipers delivers improved stopping power, while 18-inch black aluminum alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires provide outstanding grip. Exclusive tS badging, blue-accented leather and Ultrasuede seating surfaces, and an STI-branded engine start button complete the package. Rear sonar parking sensors are added for 2027.

輝 Kagayaki Edition

New for 2027, the BRZ 輝 Kagayaki Edition celebrates 15 years of pure sports car performance in Canada. Based on the performance-oriented tS, this Canadian-exclusive special edition is priced at $39,995 and limited to just 50 units nationwide.

The name Kagayaki translates from Japanese to "radiance," a fitting description for the exclusive Ceramic White exterior finish. Contrasting elements include matte black badging, crystal black fender vent accents and a crystal black rear trunk spoiler. The striking 18-inch matte bronze aluminum alloy wheels add another distinctive touch.

But the 輝 Kagayaki Edition is more than an appearance package. Beneath the hood, STI Flexible V-Bars improve dynamic handling response, complementing the tS performance-tuned suspension, Brembo braking system and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires. The result is even sharper response and greater precision behind the wheel.

Inside, blue-accented front seatbelts complement the leather and Ultrasuede seating surfaces. A unique "ZC15" animation in the 7-inch digital instrument cluster appears upon engine start-up, commemorating this special milestone. With just 50 examples available across Canada, the BRZ 輝 Kagayaki Edition represents a fitting celebration of the engineering, performance and driver engagement that have made the BRZ a favourite among enthusiasts for 15 years.
